On the last day of the Bank Holiday Weekend, Lawrence and I popped along to Freightliners Farm just down the road from our humble abode.
The farm was founded in 1973 and moved to it’s current site in Islington in 1978. It’s lovely when these little ‘countryside’ havens can survive in the constantly changing city landscape.
It’s free to visit and for Easter Monday it was buzzing with families who had come along for the various games on offer including the traditional Easter Egg hunt.
We avoided the games but made our way round looking at the goats, sheep, pigs, cows and many more.
Our favourite was the three rabbits sleeping while using the biggest one as a pillow – very cute.
The farm is open everyday apart from Monday and there’s also a quaint little cafe which is open Thursdays to Sundays.
It’s well worth a visit and hopefully it shall be there for a long time to come!
