A close friend Emma recommended La Farola on Upper Street for amazing tapas. Lawrence and I decided to give it a try on Saturday evening.

La Farola

With the weather so lovely, we even went for sitting outside, could just imagine being in Spain or Barcelona!

The menu is amazing, so much jumps out. First thing we ordered was a lovely bottle of red wine and then came the food..

La Farola

Chipirones, with my favourite ali oil sauce and a punterella salad. Gorgeous dish with the baby squid divinely crispy.

Gambas Al Ajillo – prawns sautéed with garlic, olive oil and dried hot chilli peppers.

Croquetas de Bacalao – salt cod croquettes with braves sauce. How proper croquettes should be, soft potato in the middle with a lovely crispy outside.

Salt Cod Croquettes

Beef with a root vegetable tower and tenderstem broccoli. Was a juicy bit of a meat, more like a hamburger rather than piece of steak, but still good.

Sirloin Steak

Presa Iberico – Iberico Pork shoulder with butternut squash, sultanas, sage. Melt in the mouth meat dressed with a rich sauce.

We couldn’t say no to a portion of Patatas fritas which were accompanied by a spicy tomato sauce and generous portion of ali oil – heavenly.

I would also recommend the courgette flowers stuffed with goats cheese and drizzled with honey.

To finish off such a wonderful meal it was time for the lovely sweetness of Churros and chocolate sauce.

This was exquisite tapas and I would recommend to anyone who is in the area. We certainly will be popping down the road to work our way through the menu again.
