Lawrence’s parents kindly gave him a birthday present in the form of dinner for two at Gordon Ramsey’s Foxtrot Oscar restaurant in Chelsea.

Luckily this meant that I could tag along too and try out the food with Lawrence.

It’s in Chelsea which is lovely unknown territory and great excuse to look around the beautiful houses including this wonderful blue delight.

Our voucher meant we were lucky enough to enjoy 3 courses complete with bottle of bubbly.

Foxtrot Oscar

As always we decided to go half and half on all courses, why limit ourselves to 3 courses when you can have 6!?

First up Scottish smoked salmon with citrus aioli, black radishes and pickled fennel. Refreshing dish but not sure on the pickled part.

My personal favourite was the smoked duck breast salad, tender meat with a light base in the form of the salad.

Mains were pork chop, cabbage and shallots – very tasty.

Sea bream with samphire, cherry tomatoes, garlic, light and summery dish.

Desert was a gorgeous sticky toffee pudding and a simple dish of strawberries, cream and meringues for Lawrence.
