With the forecast looking horrendous we came prepared complete with hunters and raincoats.
On arrival it was clear that this was not going to be the case, thank you unpredictable English weather.
Anyway onto the main event, a day listening to music, with a few beers and enjoying the sunshine – but the best bit was enjoying the day with my two ex flatmates, Lexi and Luci.
We planned our attack on which bands we saw, starting with Simian Mobile Disco. It was a bit bizarre, far too early for their set and the sound was too quiet meaning everyone was just talking over them!
Next up was Jackmaster and Oneman which was a lot more upbeat and started to get the party going.
Across the fields we went to Ghostpoet were we ended up listening from the luxury of lying on the grass with cider.
Todd Terje was one of my main requests and it was absolutely packed including bumping into friends we hadn’t realised were there. Inspector Norse came on and everyone went nuts!
It was time to enjoy Street Feast, Lexi discovered the best mac ‘n’ cheese she’d ever had (that’s saying something) from Annie Mae.
It was Sbtrkt for us as the final act and we managed to get up close to the front. This didn’t bode well for when things got rowdy. They started with their newer stuff which was chilled and the best bit at this point was the light show!
Then the end of the night was upon us, with Sbtrkt ending with their more well known work which had the crowds buzzing!
Field Day was great, and always that extra bit better when you know you can go home to a warm bed and shower (what a Grandma I know).
