Jackson & Rye opened up in Soho towards the end of last year and is from the same people behind Grillshack, just down the road.

Lawrence and I finally managed to get a date in for when his Sister (Steph) and boyfriend (Tom) would both be free for a spot of dinner and headed on down for some meat.

They don’t have a licence to stand at the bar, so I wouldn’t go early for a drink as you might struggle to fit at the bar.

The menu gives lots of choice and is real comfort food, with a great All Day Brunch on offer (perfect hangover food!)

We were tempted by the Crispy Squid and chipotle mayonnaise which were lovely and crunchy, with the squid perfectly cooked.

There was only one choice for dinner, a good old Rib Cut Steak with Bearnaise sauce. The price is good for a decent size piece of steak, especially as it comes with sides and bone marrow if that takes your fancy!

We have to say that the restaurant may have a good atmosphere and a tempting menu but the service was a tad disorganised. They seemed to struggle to tell who was serving which table and we ordered a bottle of red but got a different one which technically should have been cheaper than what we paid (due to the year)!

I would go back again but it’s a shame it wasn’t more organised considering it’s been going for at least 6 months.
