After the work summer party the first meeting place with Becca was Bodeans for a hangover meat feast. Bodeans BBQ restaurant has a few outlets across London and offer big portions in the form of Kansas style BBQ’d meat.
We shared the platter for 2 which consists of Baby Back Ribs, Spare Ribs, Pulled Pork, Burnt ends, chicken thighs, chips and coleslaw.
Being rather hungry we also opted for an extra side of macaroni cheese. It’s good hearty food although was a little disappointed by the spare ribs and would say the pulled pork and burnt ends were by far the highlight of the platter.
It was now time to walk off our big meal starting with finally visiting the Poppies at the Tower of London. It’s a great art installation within the moat to mark the centenary since the First World War started.
Each poppy represents a British military fatality during the war which was 888,246 in total. It’s very powerful and I would highly recommend popping down to see it, they’re still adding more poppies and will be there until 11th November (Remembrance Day).
We continued our walk across Tower Bridge along the Thames and then finishing up around Borough Market.
The market holds stalls of everything you can imagine, huge wheels of cheese (I’ll be dreaming about those).
We finished up by looking at the sweets in the form of very large meringues and cookies.
We said our goodbyes after a lovely catch up and wandered over to catch the bus – while watching a rather slow form of transport called the pedibus, rather you than me pedalling away on that!
