There’s nothing better in the winter than a trip to the cinema followed by a big juicy burger and that’s exactly what we did one Sunday in Hampstead. I’d been lucky enough to win a meal for two at Spielburger through Everyman cinemas.
We went to watch The Lobster at Everyman Hampstead. Perhaps not the most cheery of films, a very indie and quirky storyline but quite an interesting thought if that was actually the way life went! Not for those who are feeling a little lonely and not enjoying the single life. The plot focuses around Colin Farrell who breaks up with his partner and has 45days to find a romantic partner otherwise you’re turned into the animal of your choice, which for Colin is a Lobster.
Spielburger sits pretty much next door to the cinema and as you can imagine just serves burgers with a selection of slides. We shared some chicken wings and blue cheese to start with which weren’t spectacular but then after my month in the US, I’m a very harsh critic.
My selection was house burger with blue cheese, always a winner. Served on a brioche bun, which tends to be the best style for burgers these days. It was good but perhaps a little too sloppy.
With the temperature dropping and the need for even more comfort food, we couldn’t say no to the naughty option of build your own sundae. This went down a treat, and is a must to share between two.
All in all it was a good meal but not one to make a long travel to, if you happen to be in the area or at the cinema feel free to pop in.
