As always The Nudge inspired friends and I to book for a Peaky Blinders themed dinner and drinks down in Bermondsey. With Lawrence’s sister just up the road it was the perfect excuse for us to head on over in all our best peaky blinders fancy dress.

It was an offering from Tick Tack Club and you can purchase either just drinks / dance tickets later in the evening or £45 for 5 course meal and canapés which is of course what we went for.

Our group consisted of a fair few brummies which made the evening even more authenticate as we walked into the venue under a railway arch and their accents rang out putting the actors to shame. You start your evening by having to ask for a sample of wall paper from the front of house, she then shows you through the hidden door into a bustle of people drinking from tankards and placing bets on the ‘horse racing’.

After some canapés, bit of bubbly and the boys trying their hands at ‘ace racing’ we were then whisked upstairs where our table awaited. You felt like you’re in an old air raid shelter but yet white smartly laid tables and live music was our entertainment for the evening.

Our meal was typical 1920s classics such as celeriac and apple soup, followed by a classic caesar salad.

The best course was the shoulder of lamb, of course it’s not full fine fancy dining but worth the money especially to soak up the wine that just kept coming.

I should add the drinks are additional but at very reasonable prices so no need to break the bank.

The night continued with hours of dancing as the tables are pushed back. It was a great evening and would highly recommend! If you can get yourself some members from Birmingham to really fit into the theme.
