Native, Covent Garden

Mum and I recently saw a great play at the Donmar in Covent Garden. It’s called ‘One Night in Miami…‘ and was all about the infamous moment in a small hotel room in Miami when four historic friends hung out. The night was when Cassius Clay (you’ll no doubt know him as Muhammad Ali), won the world heavyweight title and celebrated with his closest friends activist Malcolm X, singer Sam Cooke and football star Jim Brown. Substans, Aarhus Denmark

I was recently lucky enough to finally find myself in lovely Denmark, it was a whistle stop tour with only 24hours in Aarhus, Denmark. Aarhus is one of those smaller cities which is overlooked when people think of Denmark, as they’ll naturally go straight to Copenhagen but if you do get the chance Aarhus is really blossoming and proving a go to destination for culture and food, it’s even been named as 2017 European Capital of Culture. Pisqu, Fitzrovia

It always brings back memories of my old job when I’m able to pop back to Fitzrovia and sample the culinary delights in the area and for this occasion it was an evening of Peruvian cuisine. What used to be a local cafe on the corner has now been turned into Pisqu, which the name symbolises the birthplace of Peru’s national drink – Pisco sour. Continue reading “Pisqu, Fitzrovia”

La Fabrica – Support Your Local

La Fabrica on Stroud Green Road has been a restaurant we’ve walked past on many occasion while constantly saying ‘we must try this place’. Finally due to cancelled plans we had a free impromptu evening and made our way down to sample their tapas. Continue reading “La Fabrica – Support Your Local”

Uni reunion at Homeslice, Old Street

With heavy hearts it was time for us to bid farewell to Katie & Mike, who are moving all the way up to Cambridge. Not so very far you may say, but gives us a great excuse to gorge on Katie’s one true love, pizza. What better place to have a uni reunion than at Homeslice on Old Street. Continue reading “Uni reunion at Homeslice, Old Street”

Bjork Digital & Margot, Covent Garden

I do apologise for the lateness on this post as the exhibition has now finished, but don’t worry you didn’t miss much. I should rewind and explain, the family and I popped to Somerset House for Bjork Digital which was described as an immersive virtual reality exhibition about the Icelandic musician Bjork. Continue reading “Bjork Digital & Margot, Covent Garden”

Ellory, Hackney

Lexi and I have a mission, to work our way through the recent Michelin star restaurants, now most of the ones we’ll be going for will no doubt be from the Bib Gourmands list which is for the restaurants that offer 3 of courses for under £28 but for this evening we went for one of the new entries in the main list, Ellory.
